Velvet Goldmine Curt/Arthur something wi

Fan fiction: "The Basis for Optimism"; Velvet Goldmine, Curt/Arthur, rated R

I'm amazed at how inspired I've been to write for this movie, so here goes...

Title: The Basis for Optimism
Pairing: Curt Wild/Arthur Stuart
Part: 1/1
Words: ~4500
Rating: R
Notes/warnings: Many, many thanks to my beta reader, gonergone, for a much-needed second pair of eyes and a much-appreciated critique. Warnings, as well, for drug use, one instance of non-explicit rough sex and general angst.

Fanfiction: Days in Summer, parts 4 and 5 on 5

Title: Days in Summer
Pairing: Curt/Arthur
Part: 4/5
Words: ~ 3200
Rating: R (mentions of drug use, sex)
Warning(s): Very brief mentions of past drug abuse. Some angst as well, if that counts.
Author’s note(s): I am re-posting this part because I don’t think anyone saw it (I probably posted too close to the holidays); however, this is kind of the crux of the story.

(Part Four)

Part: 5/5
Words: ~3200
Rating: PG13 (language)
Warning(s): None for this part
Author’s notes: First, this follows immediately after the end of part four. Second, the title, which is dropped into the last line, is a reference to a line in The Picture of Dorian Gray; the lyric “I miss you – you’re beautiful” comes from David Bowie’s song Five Years. Third, I felt iffy about the epilogue but included it anyway for the sake of clarity; I guess you can think of it as "optional".

Velvet Goldmine Arthur

Fanfiction: Days in Summer, parts 3 and 4/5, rated R, Curt/Arthur

Posting relatively early because I am close to done Days in Summer, and may even manage to complete the whole fic before I go on vacation on the 22nd. There's one part remaining after these two, incidentally. Also, I am posting Parts 3 and 4 because Part 3 was originally posted as a one off short ficlet Give and Take, and although I have tweaked it a bit I don't feel that merits reposting it separately.

Title: Days in Summer
Pairing: Curt/Arthur
Part: 3/5
Part 1 | Part 2
Words: ~1400
Rating: R (mentions of drug use, sex)
Warning(s): As noted above, mentions of past drug abuse.
Disclaimer: Velvet Goldmine and all associated characters and trademarks are the intellectual property of Todd Haynes and Miramax. This is a work of non-commercial fan fiction commentary on the film; no ownership is being claimed and no profit is being made.
Author’s note(s): In keeping with the liberal use of Oscar Wilde quotes in this movie, the quote about regretting the loss of one’s worst habits is a paraphrase from The Picture of Dorian Gray.

(Curt knows that just a few years ago, he would have destroyed someone like Arthur in about two months.)

Title: Days in Summer
Pairing: Curt/Arthur
Part: 4/5
Words: ~ 3200
Rating: R (mentions of drug use, sex)
Warning(s): Very brief mentions of past drug abuse. Some angst as well, if that counts.
Author’s note(s): In keeping with the unifying theme of Oscar Wilde references in this movie and this story, this part is peppered with several quotes/paraphrases from The Picture of Dorian Gray. (If you want the complete spotter's guide, just ask.) As well, this story has not been beta read, but feedback/concrit are absolutely treasured.

(Arthur has never meant anything to anyone in his life, but sometimes, he really thinks that's changing.)

Fanfiction: Days in Summer, part 2/? [Curt/Arthur, PG-13/R for this part]

Title: Days in Summer
Pairing: Curt/Arthur
Part: 2/? (probably 2/4)
Words: ~2600
Rating: PG-13/R
Warnings: Blink-and-you’ll-miss-them mentions of past drug use, a few curse words and implied sex.
Disclaimer: Velvet Goldmine and all associated characters and trademarks are the intellectual property of Todd Haynes and Miramax. This is a work of non-commercial fan fiction commentary on the film; no ownership is being claimed and no profit is being made.
Author’s notes: Part one is posted here, if you missed it and are interested. This is a honeymoon-type interlude that follows soon after the first part. Also, the last couple lines of this part are an Oscar Wilde paraphrase. Finally, this has not been beta read, but any feedback/concrit/appreciation always absolutely makes my day.

("Maybe Curt has been alone for too long...")

This is probably a bad weekend to post; however, happy US Thanksgiving to anybody in the States.
